The FIRST Post
As of last week the nail is officially in the coffin. We're going on this trip and nothing can get in our way now. The nail came in the form of a Surly CrossXCheck Bike which ate up the first of our savings. It's a beauty, and its purchase really made our slowly formulating plans a reality. I'll dedicate a post to that bike a little later today.
So, this is not only the first Peddlers blog post, its my first blog post ever. There will be many firsts over the next year or two and I'm ready for them all, from breathtaking vistas, to saddle sores and beyond. I (Jessamee) will be the primary blogger here. Zach has chosen to write a journal which I will create postings from occasionally. We're writing so that friends and family can stay updated, to keep a log of our experiences, and to give people a sense for what it's like go for a very ambitious bike tour as novices. We have a lot of preparation to do, we know that much and that's about it.
There's a lot to for me say about everything we're doing, why we're doing it, what we hope to accomplish, questions we have, fears, hopes, logistics and the like but I will try to keep things relatively short and readable. Since we have enabled comments feel free to give feedback on how I'm doing. I will be learning as I go. So, here's to the FIRST post ever, and many more to come! Thanks for reading
